![]() ![]() Yeah i was noticing about the failing Radeon 6000 graphic cards also was googling around and saw u can install newer GPU cards but right now they are expensive now im thinking to use it as a daily driver since my windows pc im using it to work from home also i have my xbox one x i replaced the HDD to 2 TB to game but the imac looks really great for its age and im happy im thinking to max out the specs and use it for more medium and a little heavy work. And, if it ever does fail, it's a fun project to swap it out and bring it back to life. However, it was typically the higher end models found in the 27" iMac (like what I have) that failed, not the kind you have, so you should be good. The Radeon HD 6000 series cards found in the 2011 iMacs are known to fail. The only downside to your model is the graphics card. It would make a decent Plex server, it's perfect for browsing the web, you could play old games on it, and you can even install Windows if you want. It's older, but it's still a decent computer. Those with a good memory will remember that the older Plexamp v1 did have this feature, but lost it in the v3 upgrade. The other major feature addition is the ability for Plexamp to be remotely controlled. There's lots of things it can be used for. The result is a faster, smoother app, which starts more quickly and transitions more smoothly between screens.
